What is Big League Food Company?
Big League Food Company exists to help local food businesses grow the right way.
We’re a Toronto-based food platform built around two distinct but connected arms: an owned retail platform and a wholesale distribution business. Through our retail platform, we acquire and grow beloved local food brands with the goal of scaling them into regional leaders. Through our wholesale business, we support independent cafés, restaurants, grocers, hotels, and specialty retailers with high-quality, locally curated products and reliable service.
Across both sides of the business, our mission is the same: helping local food brands and retailers grow without compromising the quality, values, independence, and community roots that made them special in the first place.
Our portfolio includes in-house brands like Dear Grain, Village Juicery, Detour Coffee, and Dark Horse Espresso, alongside a curated selection of local and Canadian makers.

5
Most large food distributors are built around scale. We’re built around helping independent food businesses compete and grow.
Big League Food Company supplies cafés, restaurants, grocers, hotels, and specialty retailers with high-quality, locally curated products sourced from trusted local partners and produced through our own in-house brands. We focus on differentiated products, flexible minimums, next-day delivery, private-label opportunities, and relationship-driven service for operators who want something better than mass-market distribution.
We understand the realities of running a modern café, bakery, or retail food business because we operate them too. Our team works closely with customers to help build stronger menus, more thoughtful shelves, and better customer experiences - not just move boxes.
